MAME4droid 2024 is a project led by David Valdeita (Seleuco) to adapt the MAME 0.266 emulator from MAMEDev and its contributors. This emulator has the capability to replicate a wide range of arcade games and systems, such as ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and MSX among others. Notably, this version of MAME supports a vast library of over 40,000 distinct ROMs.

MAME4droid is strictly an EMULATOR and does not provide any ROMs or copyrighted content.

This particular iteration of MAME4droid has been optimized for high-end Android devices, aligning with the latest PC MAME version's requirements, which demand more robust specifications compared to previous releases.

Despite the usage of top-tier devices, users should manage their expectations regarding the emulation of "modern" arcade games from the 1990s onwards, as they may not consistently operate at full speed or compatibility levels.

Given the extensive roster of over 40,000 supported games and systems, performance can vary between titles. It's important to understand that not every game will run smoothly or at all due to the sheer volume of titles supported.

Post-installation, users are prompted to deposit their MAME-labelled zipped ROMs into the /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.seleuco.mame4d2024/files/roms directory for optimal functionality (Additional instructions can be found in the help section regarding alternative methods for loading ROMs).

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This version of MAME4droid exclusively employs the '0.266' romset and does not cater to romsets from prior editions.
